The concept of “monitory democracy” was proposed by the theorist Keane in 2009 to explain certain trends that are consolidating in contemporary democracies. In this interview, we directly ask this theorist about the most important characteristics of his democratic proposal, and at the same time, we take the opportunity to raise some of the critical issues or doubts that have been outlined by other theorists.
